Subject: Finally, a AUD source !
Subject: Finally, a AUD source !
Hey GD fans !,
If you really like a certain show chances are you will want to hear a good audience/PA tape. Well, I have never seen a AUD source for this show; however, I never really looked to hard since a decent SBD had been in circulation. I gotta have a big thumbs up for Jim Wise doing some fresh transfers of his master cassettes from the audience. I always usually like Wise's tapes so hopefully we will hear more in the future.
I like this show, it sounds like the GD really want to own the stage this night. The first set is just a rocker with not a "jam" tune in the bunch; it reads like the late 70s. The second set is that over the top approach the GD only delivered, with a first set so hot, the only way to show up is to go to "11". The post space is out of the 70's as well, and played to that verve; you can hear the crowd love it. Jim Wise delivers a nice recording and certainly worthy of the alternate soundboard source which in my opinion is rather mediocre. Some early 80's shows were recorded on master cassettes since reel to reel was becoming too expensive to buy and maintain per concert.
A big thanks to Wise, Miller and Co. for the "dedication" to preserving great GD performances!!!
